MI Meet Up
One
in five Australians will be directly affected by mental illness,
but five in five can help. That’s the power of five!
Welcome and thank you for your interest in MI Meet Up.
Through
our five in five campaign we are aiming to increase understanding
and acceptance of people with a mental illness. The campaign
includes television, radio, print and cinema Community Service
Announcements or advertisements based on extensive and robust
market research. The adverts aim to inform and inspire and will
be seen all over Australia but we want your help to turn these
adverts into grassroots engagement: through MI Meet Up.
The
The
aim of MI Meet Up is to increase discussion and interest in
mental illness amongst individuals, communities and those with
influence. It is looking to make the advertisement relevant
to the individual experience and to address some of the misunderstandings
in a more in-depth way. It aims to get real change in attitudes
and behaviours to help stop the stigma affecting the one in
five Australians who will be directly affected by mental illness.
We
want you to air the advertisement to as many people as possible.
This can be with your family and friends, neighbours, workmates,
and in any religious or community group you belong to. We want
word of mouth to spread about these advertisements. We want
decision-makers, including teachers, spiritual leaders, politicians,
doctors, judiciary, employees, employers
and lawyers to see them too. It’s amazing what can be
achieved when five out five people take action.
MI
Meet
Up Kit will give you everything you need to get people talking:
information about the adverts, MI Fellowship and some ways to
get discussion started. You can use the web
version of the ad or if you would like a VHS copy of the
advertisement please contact us via e-mail
or call 03 8486 4200.
MI Meet
Up is easy but really will make a difference.
