MI Fellowship Awards 2010
MI Fellowship Victoria is calling on Fellowship members to nominate someone in their community for the 2010 MI Fellowship awards.
After first starting in 1992, the MI Fellowship Awards have proven to be a great way to publicly acknowledge the work of people involved in activities that promote community understanding of mental illness and who have made a difference to the field of mental health.
If you're a financial member of MI Fellowship and know of somebody who has worked tirelessly to support people with a mental illness or to improve awareness of mental health issues, now's your chance to say thank you.
Nominate them for a MI Fellowship Award by 5pm Friday 13 August 2010.

Nomineess must be members of MI Fellowship. To become a member download a membership application form, become a member online or phone us on (03) 8486 4200 to have one mailed to you.
Award winners are announced at the MI Fellowship annual general meeting on Tuesday 9 November.

Mental Illness Fellowship award (annual)
Awarded to a volunteer, participant or carer, family member or friend associated with the Mental Illness Fellowship Victoria, for their outstanding contribution to participants and/or carers in MI Fellowship programs.
Mental health community award (annual)
Awarded to a person working in the general community for their outstanding service to people living with a mental illness or carers of people with a mental illness.
Volunteer of the year award (annual)
Awarded to a volunteer for outstanding contributions to MI Fellowship.
O’Meara award (non-annual)
The O’Meara award is MI Fellowship’s award for individuals who have made an outstanding and extraordinary contribution to the Mental Illness Fellowship Victoria over many years in areas such as development of the organisation, advocacy or another significant area. It is not an annual award due to its prestigious nature. The award is named after John O’Meara, the organisation’s first president. In recognition the person receives honorary life membership of MI Fellowship.
Blickle award (non-annual)
The Blickle award is MI Fellowship’s award for individuals who have made sustained impact on the development of the mental health field outside of MI Fellowship. It will typically be somebody who is well known for their work in the mental health field who has made a substantial impact on the lives of people with a mental illness or their family members over a sustained period of time. It is not an annual award due to its prestigious nature.
The award is named after Jurgen Blickle of SEW-Eurodrive, a key supporter of MI Fellowship. In recognition the person receives honorary life membership of MI Fellowship.
