  • Participate in our advocacy and media campaigns
  • Use your voting rights to inform the future direction of the Mental Illness Fellowship Victoria.

Your membership entitles you to receive information on issues related to mental illness and you will be kept up-to-date about advocacy initiatives we undertake. These include our advocacy campaigns, which seek a better deal for people with a mental illness, their family and friends.

As a Member, you will be entitled to:

Ready for Work?  Where do I start?

Mental Illness Fellowship Victoria receives many calls from family members and people with a mental illness asking for help and advice about finding and keeping a job.  The most frequently asked question is, “Where do I start?”

This Forum will talk about the types of support available, what to expect from your service provider, and what kind of jobs are currently out there for people with a mental illness.

Gafa Tuiloma (Manager, MI Recruitment Services) together with his team will be talking to members about these issues, together with a speaker from Centrelink (Darebin office), who will be presenting on the impact of work on the Disability Support Pension, and explain the Newstart Allowance system.
