is the heart of the Mental Illness Fellowship. Our Members provide
a strong base of people who want to add their voice to make
a positive difference in the lives of people affected by mental
illness. Membership is open to anybody with an interest in improving
the wellbeing of people with a mental illness and their families
and friends. We welcome your application to become a member

As a Member you join Victoria’s
leading membership based not-for-profit organisation that is
passionate about creating positive change for people with a
mental illness, their family and friends. As a Member your voice
joins thousands of others and allows us unique access to state
and federal politicians, the media and mental health service
decision makers. Our Voice is heard because we represent you.
As
a Member, you can:
* Join our new local Community Development forums, which raise
awareness of issues facing people with a mental illness and
their families. Help advocate for improved mental health services
in your local area
* Communicate the positive and courageous stories of people
confronting mental illness through MC² (web based communication)
and other medium
* Participate in our advocacy and
media campaigns, including Stop the
Stigma.
* Use your voting rights to inform the future direction of the
Mental Illness Fellowship

You will be kept informed
Your membership entitles you to receive information on issues
related to mental illness and you will be kept up-to-date about
advocacy initiatives we undertake. These include our Stop the
Stigma campaign, which seeks a better deal for people with a
mental illness, their family and friends.
As a
Member, you will be entitled to:
* receive our comprehensive Membership Welcome Pack, our
quarterly publication for Members, MI Voice and our Annual Report.
* Access the ‘Members Only’ section of our website
www.mifellowship.org and our extensive range of MI Fellowship
Fact Sheets.
* Receive discounts on educational and support materials and
gain free entry to other Mental Illness Fellowship activities
and events, such as the Bruce Woodcock Memorial Lecture.

* Access to the MI Resource Centre in Melbourne. This includes
an up-to-date library and audio-visual material that specialises
in mental illness. *Note that as at January 2007, the MI Resource Centre is temporarily closed for renovation but will re-open as a new & improved facility for members.
* Links to the Mental Illness Fellowship’s services for
people with a mental illness, their families and friends
