Certificate in General Education for Adults Certificate II
Certificate of General Education for Adults Certificate III
Introduction to Community and Event Volunteering
MI Fellowship Victoria doesn’t accept that a mental illness should lead to reduced education or long term unemployment.
That’s why we offer nationally recognised education opportunities that are designed to meet the needs of people with a mental illness who would like to engage in formal study and / or look for work in the future.
Students study alongside other people with a mental illness making issues around disclosure no longer problematic. Classes are supportive and flexible; starting later than usual to counter the morning effects of some medications. Medical absences are understood and worked around.
With so many people developing a mental illness during their school years we know how important it is to offer return to study options. Education can lead to:
increased motivation
more confidence
a feeling of connection to the community
further education
employment opportunities
The Certificates in General Education for Adults courses run two days a week over four terms and cover:
personal confidence and motivation;
